A Very Velveeta Christmas

Welcome back, happy Holiday ho ho's.   Got a special treat today, a few Country groaners so cheesy or painfully emotional as to be almost brilliant.  Almost.  This may not be our only post where we dip into the fondue.  Oh, my.

Dave Dudley has created some of the best trucking tunes in the world.  Unfortunately, he also gave "Lonely Christmas Again", a miserable wreck of a weeper.  King of Western Swing Bob Wills does him one better with "Empty Chair at the Christmas Table".  And finally, we lighten the mood with a tune from Boxcar Willie, in which a very special little tow truck helps Santa out for Christmas.  "Timothy the Tow Truck" could be an after school special for the drooling 4-year old set.  The song even features a singing (shouting) kid choir, oh yes indeed.

Santa's bringing boxes of Velveeta as stocking stuffers this year!

We wish to really, really, really apologize for today's post.

Well, they can't all be winners...

I'm reminded of "Here It Is, Christmas" by Red Sovine. A truck driver (of course) who's sitting home alone drinking and thinking about his recently ended marriage. Red is actually sobbing at the end of the song.

They just don't write 'em like that anymore.
